What is CenterPoint and what does it have to do with you?
CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric is the company that delivers electricity in Greater Houston and the northern Gulf Coast. It does not sell you the electricity: that is done by the company you choose.
Houston is a deregulated market: you can choose your electric company, which sets the price of the energy, while CenterPoint remains the one that delivers the electricity and charges the delivery fees approved by the PUC. Our program works in the CenterPoint area.

How to tell if your home is in the CenterPoint area
- Look at your electric bill: find the name of the delivery company (it sometimes appears as “delivered by” or TDU).
- If it says CenterPoint, your home is in the area we serve.
- If your service comes from a municipal utility or a cooperative, the program usually does not apply. Either way, we verify your address before moving forward.

It is full-home backup. How long it lasts depends on how much energy you use during the outage.
Do you guarantee savings?
No. Savings depend on your usage and your current rate. What stays fixed is your Unergy rate and that the batteries have no monthly fee.
